Illuminated Letters is a partnership project between Gallery of Modern Art Glasgow and Glasgow Women’s Library inspired by GoMA’s exhibition of the works of Niki de Saint Phalle. This project takes as its starting point the recently donated ‘illuminated letters’ of Niki de Saint Phalle in the collection of GoMA. We invited GWL to build a learning programme, with staff at GoMA, linked to the exhibition and the letters in particular and Illuminated Letters grew out of those conversations.
GWL have just posted these lovely letters of invitation on the Illuminated Letters blog with more details about the project.
The first workshop for this project will be at GoMA on International Women’s Day and we look forward to seeing you there.
This is a message to women across the world. We are collecting letters of love and honour to a heroine who can be found in Glasgow Women’s Library, a woman who is no longer alive but whose story is celebrated somewhere in our shelves and boxes. You can find out what happens next at womenslibrary.org.uk
Come along to our inspiring workshops or simply write to your heroine today at Glasgow Women’s Library, 23 Landressy Street, Glasgow G40 1BP.
Lots of love
